It’s not quite time to pull out the seed catalogs and circle what looks good. We still have the busy bustle of the holidays to savor (or survive!) before the slower days of winter give us the time to think about Spring in the garden…or at the Farmer’s Market.
Christmas trees fresh from North Carolina will be arriving at the circle at 15 and 50 next week. Kevin grows these Frasier firs himself and brings them up to us, literally 2 days after cutting them! They are fresh, smell great and will last. This is a family operation, so you are supporting small farming by purchasing them at Gilbert’s. 2015 was his busiest year ever BEFORE Thanksgiving, and we hope to see all of you there, whenever you are ready for yours.
Our other dedicated vendors will also be there as long as our quirky Virginia weather allows, selling your favorite BBQ, pastries, lobsters, popcorn, salsa, and late fall produce. If you haven’t met these genuinely nice people and tried their wonderful products, be sure to stop by when getting your tree.
While you are focused on the holidays, the folks at your local community market are already busy thinking about what’s next. Gilbert’s Corner Market is growing, and we want you to be a part of it. What kind of vendors would you like to see in the Spring? Share your ideas here or on our Gilbert’s Corner Market Facebook page. We really do want to be an important part of our community, and need you to help sow the seeds.
If you know of any potential vendors, or of farmers who want to be part of our on-site incubator program, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or sign up at www.managemymarket.com. Let’s grow together.
